If you have searched for SEO pricing in Delhi, you have probably landed on pages that either give you a suspiciously round number or end with “it depends” and nothing useful after that. This post does neither.
I am Muzaffar Ali, an SEO freelancer based in Delhi NCR. I work with small businesses, local service providers, and e-commerce brands across the city. I know what the Delhi market charges because I am in it, and I know what you should expect at each price point because I have seen what good and bad SEO work actually looks like.
Here is everything you need to know before hiring an SEO freelancer in Delhi.
Pricing in the Delhi NCR market in 2026 falls into three broad bands based on experience level.
This is the range where you find people who are genuinely learning the craft. They may have done a few projects, completed an online course, and can handle basic on-page work. The output is limited: some title tag and meta description fixes, basic keyword research, and perhaps a few blog posts a month.
If you run a single-location business in a low-competition niche and your only goal is building a basic presence, this tier can work. The risk is that quality is inconsistent, reporting is often thin, and you have limited recourse if the work does not produce results.
This is the range where most serious freelance SEO consultants in Delhi operate, including my own retainers. At this price point, you should be getting full-service SEO: keyword strategy, technical audit and fixes, on-page optimization, content guidance, link building outreach, and monthly reporting with actual data.
The work at this level is planned and accountable. You know what is being done every month, why it is being done, and how progress will be measured.
A Delhi-based freelancer charging at this level typically has a documented track record in competitive verticals like real estate, fintech, healthcare, or national e-commerce. They often work with fewer clients at a time and bring a depth of strategy that goes beyond standard deliverable checklists.
If your business is in a highly competitive niche or you are targeting national-level keywords, this investment level makes sense. For most small and medium businesses in Delhi, the mid-level range is sufficient to see real results.
How a freelancer structures their fees matters as much as the number itself.
You pay a fixed fee each month for an agreed scope of work. This is the right model for ongoing SEO because the work never really stops. Keywords shift, competitors publish new content, technical issues appear, and Google updates algorithms. A retainer keeps someone accountable for managing all of that continuously.
My own packages are structured as monthly retainers starting at Rs 15,000. You can see the full breakdown on the packages page.
Some businesses need something specific: a technical SEO audit before a site migration, a one-time on-page optimization pass, or a local SEO setup for a new Google Business Profile. Project pricing makes sense here.
Typical project costs in Delhi:
Less common for ongoing work, but useful if you want a second opinion on your current SEO or a one-time strategy review. Experienced Delhi freelancers typically charge Rs 1,500 to Rs 4,000 per hour for consulting.
Some freelancers offer to tie their fees to rankings. This sounds attractive but creates bad incentives. A freelancer focused on hitting a specific keyword position quickly may use tactics that produce short-term results and long-term penalties. I do not offer this model, and I would be skeptical of any consultant who leads with it.
Two businesses can approach the same freelancer and get quotes that differ by Rs 20,000 a month. Here is why.
Ranking a boutique Lajpat Nagar clothing store for local searches is a very different job from ranking a Connaught Place law firm or a Noida real estate developer. Competitive verticals require more content, more link building effort, and longer timelines. The freelancer has to do more work to move the needle, so the price reflects that.
A brand-new domain with no existing content, no backlinks, and technical issues on every page takes considerably more work in the first three months than an established site that just needs better keyword targeting and a few content improvements. Some freelancers charge a higher rate for the first month or two to cover this setup work, which is fair.
The biggest source of confusion when comparing quotes is that two freelancers can charge similar monthly fees and include very different amounts of work. Always ask specifically:
A Rs 20,000 retainer that includes two long-form content pieces is genuinely cheaper than a Rs 15,000 retainer where content is billed separately at Rs 3,000 per article.
The Delhi NCR market has some characteristics that affect how SEO works and how much it realistically costs.
Ranking for SEO-adjacent searches in South Delhi (Hauz Khas, Greater Kailash, Saket) tends to be harder than ranking for the same type of business in East Delhi or outer areas like Rohini or Dwarka, simply because established businesses in wealthier areas have invested more in digital marketing over the years. If your competition has been doing SEO for five years, your budget needs to account for the gap you are closing.
A significant portion of local search in Delhi happens in transliterated Hindi or mixed Hindi-English. A freelancer who understands this and builds content around it will reach more of your actual customers than one treating Delhi as a purely English-speaking market.
Most businesses I work with initially want someone in their city. That preference makes sense for trust reasons. But for SEO, physical presence is largely irrelevant. What matters is familiarity with the Delhi market, Delhi-specific competitor research, and understanding which local industries and search behaviors you are targeting. I am based in Delhi NCR, which does help, but a freelancer from Noida or Gurgaon working on a Delhi project is no different in practice.
This is what you should realistically expect at each level of investment.
Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month: Basic on-page optimization on existing pages, keyword research for a small set of target terms, basic monthly reporting. Limited or no link building. Suitable for businesses with very low competition and a well-built site.
Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per month: Full on-page audit and fixes, keyword strategy, one to two content pieces per month, some link building activity, and structured monthly reporting. This is a solid baseline for most local Delhi businesses in moderate-competition sectors.
Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000 per month: Comprehensive technical SEO oversight, regular content production, active link building with quality outreach, competitor tracking, and detailed reporting. Appropriate for businesses in competitive verticals or those with serious growth targets.
If you want to understand what is covered at each level in detail, my monthly SEO packages break down exactly what each retainer includes.
You will encounter some genuinely bad offers in the Delhi market. Here is what to avoid.
Guaranteed first-page rankings: No one can guarantee a ranking position. Google does not publish a rulebook that anyone can follow to guarantee outcomes. A freelancer who promises this is either uninformed or being deliberately misleading.
Packages below Rs 5,000 per month with full-service claims: Real SEO work takes real time. A retainer that claims to include keyword research, content, link building, and reporting for Rs 4,000 a month is either running automated tools that violate Google’s guidelines or doing the bare minimum on a checklist and calling it done.
No reporting or vague deliverables: You should know exactly what is being done each month and see data that shows whether it is working. If a freelancer is reluctant to commit to a reporting format upfront, that is a warning sign.
Link building packages from Fiverr or similar marketplaces: Mass backlinks from unrelated sites can get your site penalized. The cost of recovery from a Google penalty is always higher than what you saved by buying cheap links.
Pricing only makes sense in the context of timeline. For most Delhi businesses, here is what realistic progress looks like.
Months 1 and 2 are largely infrastructure: fixing technical issues, completing keyword research, optimizing existing pages, and setting up tracking. You will not see significant ranking movements yet, and that is normal.
By months 3 and 4, well-targeted pages typically start appearing in Google Search Console data. You will see impressions picking up on keywords you are targeting, even before clicks follow.
Months 5 and 6 is where meaningful position improvements become visible for pages targeting low-to-medium competition keywords. Higher competition keywords take longer.
I wrote a more detailed breakdown of this in the post how long does SEO take, if you want the full picture before committing to a timeline.
This question never appears on competitor pricing pages, which is exactly why I include it.
Do not hire an SEO freelancer if your website has serious structural problems that SEO alone cannot solve. A slow site built on a poorly coded template, or a site where the product or service proposition is unclear to human visitors, will not rank well regardless of SEO spend. Fix the foundation first.
Do not hire a freelancer if you need results within 30 days. SEO does not work that way. If you have an urgent, time-limited need, paid search (Google Ads) is the right tool. SEO builds assets that compound over time; it is not a traffic tap you can turn on overnight.
Do not hire if you are not prepared to provide input. Good SEO requires your knowledge of your customers, your industry, and your business. A freelancer who never asks you questions is probably writing generic content that will not serve your actual audience.
If you are a Delhi-based business considering SEO, the most useful first step is understanding what you are actually working with. I offer a free initial call where we look at your current site, your competition, and what a realistic SEO engagement would involve and cost for your specific situation.
No pitch, no vague proposals. Just an honest picture of where you stand.

The typical range in 2026 is Rs 8,000 to Rs 80,000 per month depending on experience and scope. Most serious freelancers working on full-service campaigns for local businesses charge between Rs 15,000 and Rs 40,000 per month.
Generally yes. An agency charging Rs 40,000 to Rs 80,000 per month often assigns junior team members to your account. A freelancer at Rs 20,000 to Rs 35,000 per month who is doing the work themselves can deliver comparable or better results for small and medium businesses. The comparison changes at larger budgets where agencies can deploy full specialist teams.
For any meaningful result in a competitive Delhi market, Rs 10,000 per month is the floor for basic local SEO. If you are targeting competitive keywords or multiple service areas across Delhi NCR, Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 per month is a more realistic starting point.
For Delhi-focused campaigns, local market knowledge genuinely matters: understanding which areas have more competitive local search, which industries are saturated, and how local buyers actually search. Whether the freelancer is physically in Delhi or works remotely is less important than whether they have real experience with Delhi-specific markets.
Realistically, three to six months for low-to-medium competition keywords, and six to twelve months for highly competitive terms. New sites or sites with existing technical issues take longer. Anyone promising results in four to six weeks is not being honest with you.
